On March 26, 2018, English Language Centre, FAH welcomed a group of undergraduate students from Otaru University of Commerce, Japan for an exchange activity. ELC’s English Language Teaching Assistants organized some English language activities, and with the facilitation of some TAs and PiAs, the event was held successfully.
The exchange event mainly included two parts. The first part was Corner Talk, in which TAs and PiAs played the role of topic masters in six different tables. Students went to different tables to have a 5-minute discussion and then rotated to another table. The topics were related to cultures and university life of countries where the participants came from. The second part was a physical game called “Human Knot”, a very classic American game. Laughters and friendship filled the Learning Common in E21. Through these activities, the Japanese students practiced their English and had a better understanding and impression of the University of Macau and the UM community.
