The Centre for Studies of Translation, Interpreting and Cognition, University of Macau, is hosting Professor Daniel Gile, Professor Emeritus at Université Paris 3 – Sorbonne Nouvelle, during 16-30 Nov 2015. Professor Gile is a prominent scholar in translation/interpreting studies, as well as a veteran conference interpreter and active AIIC member. He has over 200 publications on translation/interpreting studies, among which there is the immensely influential Basic Concepts and Models for Interpreter and Translator Training. He was the President of the European Society for Translation Studies from 2004-2010 and he is currently on the EST Advisory Board. He is the Editor of the CIRIN Bulletin, Associate editor of Interpreting (John Benjamins), and is on the editorial boards of various journals for translation/interpreting studies.
