By the middle of 20th century\, people attempted to add their own perspectives to this term\, and artificially broadened the historical coverage of ‘Silk Road’. \nAs long as the world civilizations inherently differ from place to place\, the formation of cultural exchange will not be identical. While westerners firmly believed that silk came from ‘Woollen Tree’\, the ancient residents in Japanese archipelago had already produced silk themselves by breeding silkworm and planting mulberry. \nDating back to Sino-Japanese ancient history\, there was no trace of silk trade with constantly manner and large quantity. Its impact was not even able to compare with ceramics business. However\, the essential fact that fundamentally contributed to the progress of Japanese civilization was neither silk nor ceramics but books. This point has not been given sufficient attention by western scholars. URL:https://fah.um.edu.mo/event/fah-centre-for-japanese-studies-guest-lecture-2/?lang=zh-hant CATEGORIES:日本研究中心 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fah.um.edu.mo/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/poster_14-sept-2018-2-848x1200-1.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Centre%20for%20Japanese%20Studies%20%28Prof.%20Chen%20Fangze%29":MAILTO:fangzec@um.edu.mo END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Macau:20190926T143000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Macau:20190926T160000 DTSTAMP:20250728T082438 CREATED:20201023T082321Z LAST-MODIFIED:20210430T094749Z UID:38479-1569508200-1569513600@fah.um.edu.mo SUMMARY:FAH Centre for Japanese Studies ~ Guest Lecture DESCRIPTION:The Localization Strategies of Kanji (Chinese characters) and Kanbun (Chinese writing) in Pre-modern Japan \n近代以前日本的漢字、漢文的在地化策略 \nProf. NG Wai-ming\, Benjamin \n  \nAbstract \nThe Japanese use Chinese characters and write Chinese in their own unique way. The Chinese language was appropriated to express Japanese expressions and feelings. Based on primary Japanese sources\, this talk will discuss how the Chinese language was indigenized and hybridized to become a part of the Japanese language and culture from the Nara-Heian period to the Tokugawa period. Strictly speaking\, this is not a study of Japanese linguistics. The localization of the Chinese characters and writing is examined through the lens of Sino-Japanese cultural exchange. URL:https://fah.um.edu.mo/event/fah-centre-for-japanese-studies-guest-lecture/?lang=zh-hant LOCATION:E21A-G035\, FAH Building CATEGORIES:日本研究中心 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fah.um.edu.mo/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/guest-lecture-26sept2019-943x1200-1.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Centre%20for%20Japanese%20Studies%20%28Prof.%20Chen%20Fangze%29":MAILTO:fangzec@um.edu.mo END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Macau:20200917T090000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Macau:20201218T173000 DTSTAMP:20250728T082438 CREATED:20200921T080359Z LAST-MODIFIED:20201114T055915Z UID:8934-1600333200-1608312600@fah.um.edu.mo SUMMARY:English Writing and Communication Centre (EWCC) of FAH-ELC opens from September 17 to December 18\, 2020\, running on Zoom DESCRIPTION: URL:https://fah.um.edu.mo/event/english-writing-and-communication-centre-ewcc-of-fah-elc-opens-from-september-17-to-december-18-2020-running-on-zoom/?lang=zh-hant LOCATION:E7-1022 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://fah.um.edu.mo/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/ewcc-promotional-poster_fall-2020-png-848x1200-1.png ORGANIZER;CN="The%20English%20Writing%20and%20Communication%20Centre%20%28EWCC%29":MAILTO:ewcc@um.edu.mo END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Macau:20201010T143000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Macau:20201010T160000 DTSTAMP:20250728T082438 CREATED:20201023T070349Z LAST-MODIFIED:20201125T112715Z UID:9463-1602340200-1602345600@fah.um.edu.mo SUMMARY:FAH-DCLL Guest Lecture: “The Development of the Dragon and Lion Dance Culture in Macao” by Mr. Pun Keng Man & Mr. Chio Man Tou 人文學院中國語言文學系嘉賓講座:“澳門舞龍舞獅文化的發展與認識”- 潘敬文先生及趙文杜先生 DESCRIPTION: URL:https://fah.um.edu.mo/event/fah-dcll-guest-lecture-the-development-of-the-dragon-and-lion-dance-culture-in-macao-by-mr-pun-keng-man-mr-chio-man-tou-%e4%ba%ba%e6%96%87%e5%ad%b8%e9%99%a2%e4%b8%ad%e5%9c%8b/?lang=zh-hant LOCATION:E31-G001 學生活動中心劇場 CATEGORIES:中國語言文學系 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/png:https://fah.um.edu.mo/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/e8889ee9be8de8889ee78d85e6b5b7e5a0b1_2020-10-07-1-831x1200-1.png ORGANIZER;CN="Department%20of%20Chinese%20Language%20and%20Literature":MAILTO:fah.chinese@um.edu.mo END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=Asia/Macau:20201015T100000 DTEND;TZID=Asia/Macau:20201015T120000 DTSTAMP:20250728T082438 CREATED:20201023T070818Z LAST-MODIFIED:20201125T112632Z UID:9462-1602756000-1602763200@fah.um.edu.mo SUMMARY:FAH-DCLL Guest Lecture: “Research Advances of Dependency Parsing: Data\, Modeling\, and Applications” by Prof. Li Zhenghua 人文學院中國語言文學系嘉賓講座:“依存句法分析研究進展: 數據、建模及應用”- 李正華教授 DESCRIPTION: URL:https://fah.um.edu.mo/event/fah-dcll-guest-lecture-research-advances-of-dependency-parsing-data-modeling-and-applications-by-prof-li-zhenghua-%e4%ba%ba%e6%96%87%e5%ad%b8%e9%99%a2%e4%b8%ad%e5%9c%8b%e8%aa%9e/?lang=zh-hant LOCATION:E21A-3118 (講座以線上/線下形式進行) CATEGORIES:中國語言文學系 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://fah.um.edu.mo/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/poster_e69d8ee6ada3e88fafe69599e68e88-1-849x1200-1.jpg ORGANIZER;CN="Department%20of%20Chinese%20Language%20and%20Literature":MAILTO:fah.chinese@um.edu.mo END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20201027 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20201210 DTSTAMP:20250728T082438 CREATED:20201028T065040Z LAST-MODIFIED:20201114T060022Z UID:8936-1603756800-1607558399@fah.um.edu.mo SUMMARY:FAH-ELC Student Activity: i-Learner Contest DESCRIPTION:This contest is for students who can use “i-Learner English for Universities platform” to practice English language skills online. The Portuguese city of Macau was the only port in China permanently authorized to receive foreign embarkations. \nIn spite of the prohibitions\, clandestine trips\, since early times\, allowed the direct contact from Macau to America\, through the Philippines\, evading the regulations. \nThe messages and goods carried via the route of the Cape of Hope\, from Macau to Brazil\, whether smuggling or legally\, became gradually more frequent. \nFrom 1810 tea growing in Rio de Janeiro began with plants imported from Macau and about 200 Chinese working on tea `plantations. \nTraces of this cultural interchange still exist\, especially in architecture\, sculptures\, porcelains and in paintings. \n  \nShort Bio Leonor Diaz de Seabra \nProfessor Leonor Diaz de Seabra obtained a Masters in Luso-Asian Studies from the University of Macau and holds a PhD in History from the University of Porto. The self-reflective narrative\, full of anachronisms and fusion of diegetic levels\, presents China as a desired “other”\, permeated with crossed imagery. The main purpose of this communication is to verify how the intersections of these imaginary points to the possible meanings of Luso-Chinese contacts at the same time that erase the organization of Portugal’s old colonial records. Garcia (2009) understands bilingualism as a complex linguistic\, psychological and sociocultural behavior\, and that has multidimensional aspects because it involves different areas of human life (social\, cultural\, family\, identity\, linguistic\, emotional). Thus\, our goal is to discuss bilingualism as a complex phenomenon in which various elements interact and\, as such\, can be observed and analyzed from different perspectives. It is also our intention to establish your relationship with the languages of heritage \nKey works: Bilingualism. Heritage language: Identity \nSHORT BIO \nProfessor Maria Luisa Ortiz Alvarez graduated in Russian language and literature and pursued her Master degree of Pedagogical Sciences from the Moscow Higher Pedagogical Institute. She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the State University of Campinas\, a postdoctoral degree from the Federal University of Bahia and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Santiago de Compostela\, Spain. She also graduated as a teacher of Portuguese at the University of Havana\, Cuba in 1992\, where she worked as a teacher trainer of Russian language for 22 years (1978 -2000) and 10 years (1990 – 2000) as a teacher trainer of Portuguese as a foreign language. \nShe is currently an Associate Professor (level IV) of the Institute of Letters of the University of Brasilia\, an institution in which she has already held the positions of Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation and Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Applied Linguistics. In 2006 she was elected director of the Institute of Letters from 2006 to 2010 and re-elected in 2010 from 2010 to 2014. \nShe was a member of the Board of Directors of the International Society of Portuguese as a Foreign Language (Siple) between 2001 and 2004. She is currently a member of the SIPLE Advisory Board (2010-2013 and 2014-2017). In 2005\, she was elected president of the Association of Applied Linguistics of Brazil (Alab) and re-elected in 2007.
