Information about University of Évora
The University of Évora (UE) is a public institution of higher education, which was founded in 1559. The University was being closed in the 18th century and being reopens in 1979. Its main scientific domains include Arts, Social Sciences, Technology Sciences and Health. In 2004, the São João de Deus School of Nursing, which is a public polytechnic institute of higher education, became part of the University.
The campus of UE is comprised of patrimonial buildings such as Espirito Santo College, Casa Cordovil, Luís António Verney College, etc. as well as several other units in south of Portugal, where teaching and research activities are carried out.

Who can apply for this exchange programme?
FAH Undergraduate students of Portuguese Studies major, who are currently in the 2nd year of their Bachelor degree with a GPA greater than 3.0, are eligible for application. However, the final selection is not merely based on GPA. Other factors and performances such as other capabilities and talents than book knowledge, social responsibility and activity, learning attitude and motivation, service to community, etc. will be considered as well. Personal interview may be required.
Estimated Expenses for One-semester Exchange (5 months) (subject to change)
You do not need to pay for the tuition fee at the University of Évora but you are liable to pay for the tuition fee at UM, and you are liable to meet all the expenses in connection to this exchange, such as but not limited to, air tickets, insurance, visa application fee, boarding fee, subsistence etc. Below is a rough estimation for your reference.
- Round-trip air tickets EUR1,000-1,500
- Meals around EUR2,500
- Accommodation EUR500-1,000
- Public Transportation around EUR80
Generally, you will need approximately EUR5,080 to cover your living expenses during your exchange period in University of Évora.

- Transcript in English (since year 1)
- A certificate or official document of your English proficiency, i.e. TOEFL, IELTS or CET scores (results could be submitted later if necessary)
- Any other supportive documents that will help you get into this program.
