Dean of FAH Professor Hong Gang Jin talks at Chinese as a Foreign Language Seminar for Primary School Teachers in Hong Kong

Invited by Oxford University Press (Hong Kong), Professor Hong Gang Jin, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, gives a talk at the Chinese as a Foreign Language (CFL) Seminar for Primary School Teachers on 27 January 2018 at Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.

Dean Jin delivers a sharing titled “The 10 Principles of Modern Language Teaching” and engaged an active discussion on CFL teaching and learning and the future of digital teaching with the primary school teachers in Hong Kong. The theme of this seminar is “Prepare Students for the 21st Century – Innovative and Practical Tactics for Teaching Chinese”

Oxford University Press recently lauches Oxford Elementary Chinese (OEC), a Chinese textbook series before its first CFL seminar. OEC is a four-level series designed especially for young learners to learn Chinese as a foreign language. Using a communicative approach based on engaging stories and activities, the series enables learners to build strong listening and speaking skills. It also helps them develop an interest in reading, writing and different cultures.
