The Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) and the Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College (MLC) received over 30 school leavers admitted through Principal Recommended Admission (PRA), their friends and families on 18th March, 2018 (Sunday).
Addressing the prospective students and briefing them on the resources and programmes of FAH, Chair Professor Hong Gang Jin, Dean of FAH, stressed that the 4Cs – Communication, Creative and Innovation, Collaboration, as well as Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, which are the cores of the education FAH offers, are essential to young people who want to succeed in the 21st Century. Distinguished Professor De Bao Xu, Master of MLC, elaborated on the role the residential college plays in whole-person education. He believes that UM’s residential college system aiming at cultivating responsible and refined global citizens, will have long-term impact on the Macao community.
The visitors spent the afternoon interacting with over 20 staff members and current students, and visited facilities in the FAH building and the MLC. They were all impressed by the resources available at UM.
