Research Interests
My work sits at the intersection of discourse analysis, corpus linguistics, and natural-language processing. Methodologically, I am intrigued by building and interrogating large textual (and increasingly multimodal) corpora with Python-based NLP tools to uncover systematic patterns in language use. My current foci include
- news and social media discourse studies
- corpus construction, annotation, and text mining
- national image and brand communication
- conversation analysis
I welcome enquiries from research students whose projects engage critically with any of the above areas.
