Information about Beijing Foreign Studies University

Beijing Foreign Studies University, or the BFSU, is a prestigious university and the first foreign language university in China. Under the direct management of the State Ministry of Education, it offers multiple language programmes at the bachelor level, including Portuguese Language, and it is the university offering the most language programmes in the country. Besides, it also provides Master and PhD programmes in different majors. Through all these Years, BFSU has been cultivating numerous talents for China in the fields such as foreign affairs, foreign trade, international exchange and foreign language teaching. It is an important base for cultivating talents in foreign affairs and translation. Many excellent bilingual talents of Chinese and Portuguese were graduated from this university.

  • Portuguese Studies (Postgraduate)

Who can apply for this exchange programme?

  • Full-time students with good academic and disciplinary standing;
  • Eligible students should be Macao, Hong Kongor Taiwan residents studying in postgraduate programmes offered by the Department of Portuguese;
  • Master students must complete two semesters with a GPA greater than 2.7 by the time of departure;
  • Satisfactory language proficiency.

Exchange Programme Costs:

Selected students are expected to pay tuition fees to the University of Macau and meet all the transportation, accommodation, meals and living expenses while they are studying in the host university.

  • Apply for the exchange programme (Application period: 9 – 22 January 2025) and complete the application through GAO application system.
  • Check your email for the assessment arrangement after the application period;
  • Check your email for the nomination result;
  • Apply for the exchange to the host university and receive the acceptance letter;
  • Prepare and submit your learning agreement;
  • Prepare your departure
