The ECAC hosted the first of the three sessions of Global Skills Study workshop series on 30 March 2022.  The first session, ‘Study Hard; Study Smart!’ was held in E3-G033 and attended by students from various faculties.

In this workshop, efficient and effective study tips were introduced to the participants. The session started with students sharing the challenges and difficulties they face especially with the use of English in their courses, and how they handle them. Students were then put in groups and given the reading text ‘Studying 101: Study Smarter, Not Harder’.  This activity took students through the journey of learning how to study effectively and efficiently by taking note of the key points of the article,  writing and discussing these key points with each other, and then presenting/teaching other participants how to study effectively and efficiently for their exams. Instead of studying the material passively, students were engaged in learning how to interact with the material using different sensory learning styles to help them better retain and remember the information in a natural, meaningful, and fun way.  Each participant also received a free exam study pack with suggested study tips that they can use for their exam revision.
