FAH/DPHIL: The Mario Echano Prize for the Best Undergraduate Philosophy Essay
The Mario Echano Prize for the Best Undergraduate Philosophy Essay is awarded for excellence in philosophy. Students enrolled in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies undergraduate courses are eligible to enter an essay for the annual award. Students are invited to submit an academic essay written as an assignment in one of the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies’ undergraduate courses this academic year (AY2024/2025). Essays of any length are acceptable. The organisers reserve the right not to award the prize if essays are not of sufficiently high standard. ELC-Spring 2025 i-Learner English for Universities Marathon Competition
This semester, the ELC is thrilled to present the i-Learner English Marathon Competition! Dive into as many lessons as you can by April 15, 2025. To join the contest, students have to complete a minimum requirement of lessons with a score of 70% or above. Students from UE1 to UE3 must complete a minimum of 35 lessons, while students from E4 to E5 must complete at least 20 lessons to enter the competition. The ELC will select one champion who achieves the highest completion regardless of the level. The champion will be awarded a grand prize worth up to MOP 1,000. Dear Students, We’re excited to invite you to join our 21-Day Podcast Listening Challenge! This engaging activity will take place from February 10 to March 7. Here’s what to look forward to: Co-listening partners: You’ll team up with a peer to explore podcasts together. Dedicated support: Four writing centre tutors will guide you in improving your listening skills. Interactive sessions: Spend 5 hours per week on podcasts and enjoy 1-hour weekly sessions at the writing centre. After discussing problems that connect free speech with disinformation and fake news, I will use some basic tools in the philosophy of language to give some clarification of the notion of fake news. First of all, I will use Austin’s notion of speech act, and in particular, I will describe fake news as a kind of speech act falling under the force of assertion. 緣起 “歷史在加速消失。” “記憶(研究)的興起是文字書寫的輝煌的葬禮!” 隨著法國《記憶之場》全譯本被陸續譯介到中國,借鑒他山之石,展開關於中國“記憶之場”研究的時機業已成熟。記憶之場具有實在性、象徵性、功能性等特徵,以什麼標準、使用怎樣的方法展開澳門的記憶之場研究,是本次學術工作坊的目的所在。本次工作坊擬就三個方面進行深入討論: 一曰從法國和歐洲歷史探討記憶研究的方法論問題。 二曰通過若干實例檢討目前記憶研究狀況。 三曰就如何展開澳門的記憶之場研究進行討論。 會議議程
