Twelve prospective Form 6 students from Sacred Heart Canossian College English Section (SHCCES), accompanied by their teachers, visited the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) on 10th July, 2024. The group engaged in a series of immersive activities during their visit.

Upon arrival at FAH, the students received an introduction to the faculty and its programmes, followed by group activities. They were introduced to the Simultaneous Interpreting Laboratory (SI Lab) and participated in a demo training session. This was followed by a demonstration of eye-tracking technology, which is a cutting-edge tool used for collecting data in areas such as second language acquisition, translation and interpreting, and art appreciation. Through interactive activities led by FAH’s postgraduate researchers, the students gained foundational knowledge that enhanced their understanding of how the human brain processes language.

The students were enthusiastic and engaged throughout the demonstrations. They remained highly focused and intensely involved during the one-hour visit, thoroughly enjoying the experience.
