Professor Jia Jinhua of Philosophy and Religious Studies Program, Faculty of Arts and Humanities has just been elected as a Fellow of the National Humanities Center, United States and also invited to work on her research projects there for the 2014-2015 year. NHC is one of the a few renowned “institutes for advanced study” in the world, which promote intellectual autonomy, intellectual depth, and scholarly community. Prof Jia is the first NHC Fellow from the greater China region (Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore).
Recently Professor Jia has also been invited as a Partner of the World Consortium for Research in Confucian Culture and as a Plenary Speaker for the Consortium’s inauguration conference “Confucian Values and a Changing World Cultural Order” to be held in October 2014 in Hawaii. Professor Jia has also been elected as a Member of the Academic Committee, Chinese Academy of Buddhism.
人文學院哲學及宗教學專業賈晉華教授當選為美國國家人文中心院士,並獲邀請於2014-2015學年至此中心從事研究工作。此中心是世界僅有的幾所著名“高等研究院”之一,其目標為促進學術思想的自由和深度及學術群體的合作。賈教授是第一位遴選自澳門、香港、臺灣、新加坡等大中華地區的院士。
賈教授近日來還獲邀請為世界儒學文化研究聯合會理事,並被邀請為聯合會將於2014年10月在夏威夷召開的第一屆國際會議“儒家價值觀與變化中的世界文化秩序”的大會發言人。賈教授還當選為中國佛教學會學術委員會委員。
