In commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Chinese artist Feng Zikai, an exhibition titled ‘The Education World of Feng Zikai’ and a seminar were held at the University of Macau (UM). The exhibition showcased about 60 works of art by Feng, while the seminar explored the design of his books and his passion for children’s art education.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cheang Neng Ian, deputy director of UM’s Centre for Chinese History and Culture, said that Feng was not only a writer, painter and educator, but also a cultural ambassador. His works integrate the profound Chinese culture with the essence of modern art, facilitating cultural exchange and heritage. During the seminar, guests gave presentations on research on Feng’s artistic creation, artistic thoughts, and cultural education, as well as their significance. Experts and scholars also engaged in sharing and discussions, which deepened their understanding of Feng.
