Professor Tang Keng Pan (middle) is selected into Guangdong Provincial Situation Experts Database
“The Guangdong Provincial Situation Experts Symposium” was ceremoniously held at Huatai Hotel in Guangzhou by Chorography Office of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province the other day. One of the important issues of the agenda was to grant letters of appointment to all the experts selected into the Guangdong Provincial Situation Experts Database, and the period of the appointment is from August 2018 to August 2023. Prof. Tang Keng Pan, Emeritus Professor of Faculty of Arts and Humanities, is the only Macao resident among all the selected experts.
The Guangdong Provincial Situation Experts Database, established by the Chorography Office of Guangdong Province that specially selected a group of scholars with expertise and academic achievements, aims at taking advantage of the intellectual superiority of experts from all research domains and maintaining the national leading position of Guangdong’s chorographic work performance. The database mainly consists of senior professors from provincial and municipal social science associations, as well as colleges and universities, with fairly strict selection standards that they must have profound research findings on Guangdong situation in the domains of natural resources, politics, economy, culture and society, with broad vision and innovative spirit; or have made outstanding studies on chorographic works, yearbooks, compilation and informatization of local history, and local chronicles museum construction; or have excellent policy analysis abilities and academic achievements, with relatively high publicity and representativeness in their domains.
