The English Writing and Communication Centre (EWCC) of the English Language Centre (ELC) recently hosted the Content Creation 101 Workshop, an innovative event designed to bridge the gap between English language learning and modern social media strategy. Held on April 22nd, the workshop provided students with practical tools to elevate their digital presence while honing their communication skills.

Masterful Storytelling and Strategy
The core of the workshop focused on enhancing students’ creative narrative and technical skills through a blend of traditional storytelling and contemporary media tips. Key segments included:
- The Story Mountain: Students were introduced to the “Story Mountain” framework, a foundational tool used to map out compelling narratives and ensure structural clarity in their content.
- Social Media Insights: Following the storytelling theory, participants received a series of strategic tips for creating engaging social media content tailored for digital audiences.
- Interactive Engagement: To keep the energy high and foster collaboration, the session utilized interactive activities including “Slido” polls and story retelling exercises.

Hands-on Creation: Promoting EWCC
As the event culminated, students transitioned from theory to practice by producing their own short-form videos. This hands-on project challenged participants to apply their new storytelling knowledge and social media tips to create promotional content for the EWCC, showcasing the centre’s vibrant community through their unique lenses.
