The first Macao Forum on Education in Humanities and Social Sciences
The first Macao Forum on Education in Humanities and Social Sciences was held at the University of Macau (UM) recently. Co-organised by UM’s Macao Base for Primary & Secondary Education in Humanities & Social Sciences and Centre for Chinese History and Culture, the forum aimed to promote collaboration between UM and local schools in the fields of humanities and social sciences as well as to explore new avenues for education in the fields.
UM scholars and representatives from various primary and secondary schools in Macao participated in the forum and had in-depth discussions on issues related to the creation of an environment that is conducive to education in humanities and social sciences.
UM’s University Council Chair Lam Kam Seng and UM Rector Yonghua Song met with forum participants. UM’s Vice Rector Billy So delivered a speech in which he stressed the significance of the forum, saying that it was part of UM’s effort to promote education in humanities and social sciences in partnership with local schools.
