On March 28, 2025, a team of faculty and students led by Professor Zhou Hongtao from the Department of Arts and Design traveled to Hong Kong to participate in Art Basel. As one of the most influential art events globally, Art Basel Hong Kong brings together artists and galleries from around the world, showcasing the latest trends and innovative works in contemporary art.

The main purpose of this visit was to provide students with an in-depth understanding of contemporary art development and to inspire creative ideas. At the fair, students appreciated works by top international artists and engaged in discussions with professionals from the global art community, sharing their perspectives and experiences.

During the exhibition, students paid special attention to interactive installations and new media art. These works not only transcended traditional artistic boundaries but also encouraged them to think deeply about future forms of art. After the visit, students expressed that the exhibition gave them a deeper understanding of contemporary art and they look forward to applying what they learned in their future creations.

This visit was not only an academic activity but also an important opportunity for students to understand the art market and broaden their horizons. The Department of Arts and Design hopes that such activities will stimulate students’ critical thinking and foster their creativity.
