UMGothic are delighted to announce an innovative research event: ‘CoronaGothic: Cultures of the Pandemic’. We have invited six leading academics from Europe and the UK who work in the Humanities and Social Sciences to join with UM in a ‘flash’ Zoom conference on the cultural implications of Covid-19. UMGothic will be represented by Prof. William Hughes and Prof. Nick Groom, with Prof. Victoria Harrison chairing; the other speakers will be Prof. Mariaconcetta Costantini (D’Annunzio University of Chieti-Pescara), Dr Sam George (University of Hertfordshire), Prof. Steve Hinchliffe (University of Exeter), Prof. Darryl Jones (Trinity College, Dublin), Prof. David Punter (University of Bristol), and Prof. Corinna Wagner (University of Exeter).

The ‘flash’ format will consist of very short ten-minute presentations followed by questions from participants. Abstracts will be circulated shortly before the event to allow participants to submit questions.
