The Macao edition of a Chinese classics recitation and exchange activity for university students from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao was recently held at the University of Macau (UM). The event was co-organised by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) of UM, the School of Linguistics Sciences and Arts of Jiangsu Normal University (JSNU), and the Faculty of Humanities of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). At the opening ceremony, Yuan Yulin, head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of UM; Yao Yao, associate dean of the Faculty of Humanities of PolyU; and Zhang Qiang, associate dean of the School of Linguistics Sciences and Arts of JSNU, delivered speeches on behalf of the three organisers, respectively. In 2021, UM, JSNU, and PolyU jointly held this event for the first time to provide a platform for students from Jiangsu province, Hong Kong, and Macao, who are passionate about recitation and Chinese culture, to share and demonstrate their skills.
