Department of Chinese Language and Literature (FAH, UM), in conjunction with China Ci-fu Studies Association, held a high-caliber academic gathering, “Literature and the Construction of National Image：The 14th International Conference on Ci-fu”, from Aug 8th to 10th, 2021. More than 120 scholars and researchers from academic institutes like Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Nanjing University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, Renmin University of China, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Chengchi University, Fu Jen Catholic University, National University of Singapore and Osaka University participated in this meeting. Prof. XU Jie (Dean of FAH), Prof. XU Jie (Chief of China Ci-fu Studies Association) and Dr. SUN Shaohua (boffin from CASS, deputy editor-in-chief of Literary Heritage) delivered the opening address.
Prof. TANG Chon Chit, TAM Mei Leng, YEUNG Siu Kwai and WANG Sihao hosted the opening ceremony, topic speech and closing ceremony. Over ten master and PhD students from FAH also presented their reports in the meeting. This successful conference, with positive repercussion, tremendously promotes the international influence of UM’s Chinese subject.
