With the final assessment completed on May 14, 2020, the Mandarin courses of the University of Macau (UM) Confucius Institute offered in the 2nd Semester of Academic Year 2019/2020 have ended successfully. A total of 87 students passed the assessment and awarded with a “Certificate of Attendance”, and 22 of them have received the “Best Student” award to recognize their outstanding performance.
The institute offered four different level of courses at elementary I, elementary II, intermediate I and pre-advanced levels to non-Chinese native speakers in Macao this semester. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the institute delivered the whole class lectures and small group tutorials via online learning so as to allow students to “keep learning amid class suspension” . The teaching team of the institute has adjusted the method of teaching for several times as to address the feedback received from our students.
