Organizational units: University of Macau (UM)’s Department of Portuguese (DPORT) and the Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Teaching and Training Centre (CPC), with the Department of Portuguese Language of the China Radio International (CRIpor) Period: Continue to be updated (15 episodes) Purpose and objective of the radio talk: The program, titled “Chinese Ideas”, will offer a systematic introduction to a group of major thinkers and works which shaped the Chinese intellectual tradition. EWCC Opens from January 21 to May 17 for Spring 2021 The English Writing and Communication Centre (EWCC), a sub-unit of the English Language Centre (ELC) of Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), offers one-on-one consultation service to UM students to help them with their writing and communication skills. i-Learner Contest for 2nd Semester of AY20/21 Many of you use an online program called “i-Learner English for Universities platform” to practice your English language skills. “i-Learner” is a self-directed program for English language learning, with which you can practice your English skills online at your own pace. Many students have enjoyed their learning experience with i-Learner and have given positive reviews. To coincide with this theme, the ELC is thrilled to launch: i) a Creative Writing Contest (1-30 April now: 1 April to 9 May) and ii) a Creative Writing Workshop (31 March now: 11 April). 1. The Spatial Distribution of Chinese Manufacturing Industry in 1933: and A Discussion on the Spatial Process of Late-Developing Countries’ Modernization 1933年中國製造業區域布局研究—兼論後發大國工業化的空間進程
A database based on A Survey Report of Chinese Industry by Liu Dajun and other statistics in 1930s has been constructed as the main source for this research. This database reveals that the geographic industrial distribution of China in 1933 demonstrated a trend “contiguous distribution in the east, scattered distribution in the west”. This trend was caused by the distinguishes of the eastern and western region in natural resources, transportation conditions and connections with external markets. Zoom: https://umac.zoom.us/j/92984147450 Abstract During his lifetime the Sòng dynasty Rú scholar, Zhū Xī 朱熹 (1130-1200), never encountered any person who was associated with Christian traditions. Nevertheless, the immense cultural and intellectual influences of his school of Principle-centered Learning (Lǐxué理學) became a dominant force in the development of Ruist (“Confucian”) traditions in later dynasties. During the Qīng empire (1645-1911) Zhū Xī’s interpretations of The Four Books (Sìshū 《四書》) – texts that he created in the 1170s in ways that were innovative and controversial – became the imperially authorized interpretive standards for Ruist education.
